KONGSBERG Discovery is shaping autonomous maritime vessels. We seek an Operational Systems Designer to design holistic USV systems, balancing human needs with technical possibilities. You will work with users, engineers and product teams to create safe, intuitive solutions and guide projects from concept to market readiness.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Human Factors Engineering or related field.
• Experience in the maritime domain is required.
• Knowledge of ISO 11064 and ISO 9241-210 is expected.
• Ability to lead and collaborate in complex development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain USV solutions with focus on safety-critical and functional design.
• Take a holistic design perspective across technologies and operations.
• Collaborate across disciplines with users, developers and stakeholders.
• Follow projects from concepts to market-ready products, contributing through studies, design, validation and testing.
• Turn user and operational needs into design solutions using HTA and HFI, including design validation.
• Design and test interfaces for human supervisors to support situational awareness and safety.
