MDE Stavanger is seeking an experienced Senior Telecom Engineer to join our Stavanger team. You will conduct detailed telecom system design, support offshore/onshore inspections, and guide project studies from concept to delivery.

Key tasks include preparing job packages, managing supplier interactions, and updating as-built documentation. Offshore qualifications and strong English/Norwegian communication are essential.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Instrumentation or Automation.
• Alternative: technical college qualification with extensive oil & gas engineering experience.
• Minimum 5 years of offshore project experience.
• Strong engineering design and technical documentation skills.
• Knowledge of ATEX standards and client systems/procedures.
• Experience with offshore installations modifications.
• Telecom systems, network infrastructure and fiber-optic expertise used in oil and gas.
• Independent working style with ability to collaborate across teams.
• Fluency in Norwegian (written/spoken) or strong English communication.
• Basic EX course, FSE (Electrical Safety Training), and AT / SJA.
• Offshore safety and medical certificates are required.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Telecom Engineer in Stavanger

Job Description

• Perform detailed engineering and design of telecom systems.


• Participate in technical studies and project evaluations.


• Prepare estimates for telecom engineering activities.


• Prepare job packages and follow up on technical deliveries.


• Perform discipline checks of design documentation, including studies, drawings and job packages.


• Follow up suppliers and manage assigned equipment packages.


• Participate in pre-testing and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at supplier facilities.


• Participate in onshore and offshore inspections.


• Provide technical guidance and training to new engineers.


• Prepare and update as-built documentation.

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Telecommunications, Instrumentation or Automation.


• Alternatively, a technical college qualification combined with extensive engineering experience from the Norwegian oil and gas industry.


• Minimum 5 years of experience from offshore-related projects.


• Strong experience in engineering design and technical documentation.


• Good knowledge of ATEX standards, relevant technical requirements and client systems and procedures.


• Extensive experience with modifications to operational offshore installations.


• Strong knowledge of telecom systems, network infrastructure and fiber-optic technologies used in the oil and gas industry.


• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.


• Proficiency in Norwegian, both written and spoken, or strong English communication skills.


• Basic EX course (6-8 hours online or 22.5 hours classroom training).


• FSE - Electrical Safety Training, including first aid.


• Valid offshore safety certificate and offshore medical certificate.
