Job summary

MDE Norway seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer for offshore drilling projects. You will support installation activities on fixed platforms, perform field and hook-up engineering, and manage work packages and supplier coordination.

Candidates should have an electrical engineering degree and at least five years of relevant offshore experience, preferably with NCS standards and ATEX/Ex knowledge. Position requires on-site work in offshore environments with mobility between sites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; relevant experience may compensate.
• Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience.
• Experience with offshore drilling installations and NCS regulations.
• Knowledge of power distribution, documentation and hook-up procedures.
• Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.

• Contribute to CTR activities and tender processes related to installation and projects.
• Perform engineering studies and project execution within drilling facilities on fixed offshore platforms.
• Carry out electrical field engineering and field hook-up engineering.
• Prepare and follow up work packages.
• Follow up suppliers, installations and technical deliveries.
• Prepare red mark-up documentation and final documentation.
• Participate in offshore surveys, installation follow-up and potential yard stays.
• Coordinate and cooperate with rig crews and ongoing installation activities.
• Ensure project deliveries are completed within agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Report costs, progress and deviations to the Technical Lead, Package Engineer or Project Manager.

Qualification Requirements

• Technical college, bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Relevant experience may compensate for a lack of formal education.
• Electrician trade certificate is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within electrical engineering.
• Experience with modification projects on fixed drilling installations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
• Experience with electrical engineering, installation and project execution.
• Experience with project deliveries and customer requirements.
• Preferably experience within one or more of the following areas:
• Power distribution systems and load calculations.
• Third-party hook-up and documentation (Z-015N).
• Drilling equipment and systems.
• Winterization, heat tracing and associated power distribution.
• Engineering and design of the above-mentioned systems.
• Knowledge of relevant petroleum industry standards, rules and regulations, including PTIL, NORSOK, ATEX, OLF, DNV and IEC.
• Training and experience with Ex, Ex i and ATEX equipment and regulations.
• Understanding of relevant laws, regulations and industry requirements.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with the following software and systems is an advantage:
