Job summary

KONGSBERG is seeking a Systems Architect to define the architecture of autonomous marine systems within the Uncrewed Platforms division, delivering integrated AUVs and USVs from concept to operations.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, apply model-based systems engineering and SysML, and ensure scalable, safe solutions across lifecycles. This role offers hybrid work options in Horten or Oslo and opportunities in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent
• Proven experience with model-based systems engineering, preferably in the context of uncrewed or autonomous systems
• Strong knowledge of systems architecting and engineering principles, practices, and technologies
• Experience with relevant technologies or domains
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Defining and maintaining the total system architecture of the solution
• Contribute to the high-level breakdown of the system, defining the system interactions and interfaces, and the technologies and resources to be used in the design
• Understanding the requirements - identifying the stakeholders, helping to analyze the requirements and extracting those of architectural significance
• Formulating the design by defining and modelling systems architecture to ensure it meets the various functional and operational requirements, balancing the goals and constraints on the solution
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that defined systems and sub-systems are properly integrated and aligned with the overarching system architecture
• Implementing and overseeing system engineering processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness
