Job summary

Interwell P&A is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer in Trondheim. You will lead interdisciplinary R&D projects from idea to prototype, shaping product requirements and guiding design reviews.

The role emphasizes translating research into practical, field-ready solutions and close collaboration with design and operations teams. The ideal candidate will have a MSc/MEng in Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years of relevant experience, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• MSc / MEng in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Excellent interdisciplinary technical knowledge and communication.
• Adept at technical communication and problem solving.
• Experience with project management is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute interdisciplinary R&D projects from idea to prototype.
• Define product requirements and ensure they are upheld in R&D of new products.
• Lead risk assessments, FMECAs, design reviews, and other design processes.
• Translate product risks into test objectives and acceptance criteria.
• Transfer results from research to practical use and support prototype development and field trials.
• Perform technical calculations and assessments and accelerate technology development.
