Job summary

Thor is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a multi-disciplinary data centre project in Norway. You will join the commercial team to own the commercial management of allocated packages from measurement through final account, protecting the client's position and maintaining accurate records.

The role is hands-on, project-based, requiring collaboration with engineering, procurement, planning and site teams, with senior commercial leadership guiding process improvements as the team grows.

Qualifications

• Proven quantity surveying experience on large or complex projects.
• Experience in oil and gas, offshore, industrial or fast-track construction, or data centre projects.
• Strong knowledge of contracts and subcontracts, including variations, claims and change control.
• Experience measuring and valuing work, and preparing payment certificates.
• Ability to document and evidence commercial positions clearly in writing.
• Project-based experience, on site or within the project team.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with cost or commercial systems.

Responsibilities

• Measure and value work carried out by subcontractors and suppliers, and prepare interim and final payment assessments.
• Verify progress and quantities on site, and reconcile them against the contract, Bills of Quantities and approved changes.
• Review and certify payment applications, retention, deductions and back-charges.
• Manage final accounts and close out commercial positions on completed packages.
• Identify, record and price changes, variations and instructions with full audit trail.
