At AKVA group, we are Pioneering a better future within sustainable aquaculture through innovative technology and strong project execution.

Due to continued growth, we are strengthening our project organisation and are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, international land-based aquaculture projects typically exceeding EUR 10M.

AKVA group Land Based

As Senior Project Manager, you will take full ownership of project execution—from contract award through engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, and final handover.

You will act as the central link between client, engineering, design, supply chain and site execution, ensuring structured and predictable project delivery in line with contractual commitments.

Welcome on board

You will be part of a global organisation where collaboration, professional sparring, and knowledge sharing across functions are fundamental to how we work. Projects are executed across borders, and you will typically lead international, cross-functional project teams with potential members from Denmark, Norway, Chile and China.

We offer an informal and dynamic working environment characterised by high energy, engagement, and a strong team spirit.

The position reports to the Head of Smolt Projects and is part of a team of nine highly skilled Project Managers and two Project Planners. The position is based at AKVA Group’s headquarters in Klepp, just a short drive from Stavanger and Sandnes, with convenient access by train and bus. Due to the international nature of our projects and organisation, a moderate level of travel should be expected, typically around 10–30 days per year, depending on project phases and specific assignments.

This role offers strong opportunities for both professional and personal development. You will be working in a culture built on trust, accountability, and a high degree of autonomy within a framework of responsibility.

  • Drive contract management, including variations, risk management, and stakeholder alignment
  • Secure good cost control in collabration and with support from Project Controller
  • Ensure structured project governance, reporting, and decision-making processes
  • Collaborate closely with Site Managers to secure efficient installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
  • Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in project execution
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a similar technical field
  • Proven experience (5–10+ years) as a Project Manager delivering complex technical projects in an international environment
  • Strong commercial understanding and experience with contract management
  • Solid leadership skills – able to motivate, align and drive performance in cross-functional teams
  • Structured, proactive, and result-oriented approach to project execution
  • Experience within aquaculture or process/industrial projects is an advantage
  • Experience with project and reporting tools such as MS Project, Power BI, and Microsoft Office
