Job summary

Gard is expanding its Offshore team and seeks a Claims Executive/Senior Claims Executive to manage a diverse, worldwide portfolio of maritime claims with a focus on People claims and P&I risks. The role involves handling claims from notification through resolution, working with members, brokers, lawyers, and surveyors across Gard's global network.

The ideal candidate has a background in law, marine insurance, or nautical disciplines and excellent English.

Qualifications

• Background in law, marine insurance, marine technical disciplines, or nautical/seagoing experience
• Experience from a shipping company, ship management, or the maritime industry
• Excellent written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of maritime claims arising from worldwide shipping and offshore operations, with a primary focus on People claims and P&I risks.
• Manage claims from initial notification through investigation, assessment, negotiation, and resolution.
• Provide practical and high-quality advice to members on claims, insurance cover, loss prevention, and risk management.
• Handle negotiations, dispute resolution processes, settlements, and recovery actions where relevant.
• Develop strong relationships with our members and clients, ensuring excellent service and member satisfaction.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues across Claims, Underwriting, Loss Prevention and other specialist functions.
• Participate in client meetings, presentations, seminars, market activities, and industry discussions.
