Job summary

Norwegian Hull Club seeks a Senior Technical Advisor to strengthen its Technical Department. You will provide expert technical support, conduct surveys and issue survey reports to Claims Handlers, Underwriters and Assureds, helping to assess risks and losses.

Based in Bergen or Oslo, depending on the successful candidate, the role offers opportunities to develop technology-led services, expand the surveyor network, and contribute to loss prevention through proactive analysis, tendering support,

Qualifications

Relevant technical education or equivalent experience.
Solid practical experience from the shipping / maritime industry.
Confident using digital tools and interested in developing technology-led services.
Knowledge of international marine insurance is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

Provide technical advice and competence across Norwegian Hull Club, supporting Claims Handlers, Underwriters and Assureds; conduct or assist with surveys and reports.
Assist with damage specifications and significant repair tenders; advise on tender conditions and contract proposals; participate in invoice negotiations.
Evaluate and develop surveyor networks; contribute to the evolution of services and products, including digital development.
