Job summary

Clayco is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager to oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and elevator scopes on nationwide projects. You will lead design-team coordination, subcontractor negotiations, and on-site supervision to deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will review drawings, manage changes, ensure safety and quality, and mentor junior staff while driving process improvements across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage multiple trades and personalities.
• Experience managing MEP projects and scopes (6–10 years).

Responsibilities

• Plan, analyze specifications, MEP interrelationships, sequencing and schedule.
• Coordinate problem solving between MEP subcontractors during construction.
• Validate design issues related to MEP and propose alternatives.
• Manage MEP submittals and changes.
• Oversee logs for MEP changes and as-builts on field drawings.
• Coordinate with management to oversee budgeting and justification of MEP change work.
• Ensure quality control in installation of MEP work.
• Direct and oversee activities of MEP subcontractors on-site.
• Liaise with consultant engineers, inspectors, and staff.
• Ensure quality documentation and safety compliance by subcontractors.
• Support planning meetings, write scopes, obtain quotes, schedule work.
• Mentor junior team members and support performance management.
