In this role, you will act as a Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) for assigned mechanical equipment packages. You will be responsible for developing technical specifications, evaluating supplier bids, reviewing technical documentation, and coordinating with suppliers and other engineering disciplines to ensure that equipment packages meet project requirements.

A key part of the assignment involves reviewing supplier proposals and handling deviations related to Equinor's ST and STS requirements. You will also participate in package execution, supplier follow-up, client coordination, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).

The position requires recent experience as a PRE for mechanical packages in brownfield projects, preferably involving topside maintenance and modification (M&M) projects on North Sea platforms. The role is based in Bergen, where you will work closely with dedicated engineering teams at the office.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review technical specifications for mechanical equipment.

  • Evaluate supplier bids and technical proposals.

  • Review supplier documentation and manage technical deviations.

  • Ensure compliance with Equinor ST and STS requirements.

  • Coordinate with suppliers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Participate in package execution, supplier follow-up, and technical clarification meetings.

  • Support client involvement and maintain effective communication with relevant stakeholders.

  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and ensure equipment meets project specifications.

  • Contribute to early-phase engineering, concept studies, and EPCI modification projects where relevant.

  • Ensure that technical deliverables meet project quality requirements and deadlines.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and provide regular progress updates.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience.

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical equipment packages for offshore development projects.

  • Recent experience as a Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) for mechanical packages in brownfield projects is an absolute requirement.

  • Relevant experience from topside maintenance and modification (M&M) projects on North Sea platforms.

  • Experience with supplier bid evaluations, technical specifications, documentation reviews, and supplier coordination.

  • Knowledge of Equinor ST and STS requirements.

  • Experience with early-phase/concept studies and/or EPCI modification contracts is an advantage.

  • Familiarity with MIPS, SAP, TIME, STID, ProCoSys, and MS Office.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.

  • Fluent Norwegian communication skills.

  • Open-minded, solution-oriented, and able to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Must currently live in Bergen, as the role requires close collaboration with dedicated teams working together in specific office areas or relocation to Bergen with proper reasons or willing to relocate with appropriate reasons.
