Job summary

Sigma Group in Oslo is seeking an experienced Senior Marine Systems Engineer to lead the design of marine and hull systems for FPSOs, offshore vessels, and floating structures. You'll work within multidisciplinary teams across concept studies through detailed design and delivery.

You will develop P&ID drawings, ballast and HVAC systems, perform hydraulic and thermal analyses, and support fabrication, commissioning and vessel delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Marine Systems Engineering.
• MSc or BSc in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Strong experience with marine systems design.
• Experience with ballast, bilge, fuel, seawater, cargo handling, auxiliary systems or HVAC systems.
• Experience from FPSO/FSO projects, vessel conversions, offshore vessels, dredging vessels or ship newbuilds.
• Excellent knowledge of P&ID development and system documentation.
• Experience working with classification societies and international regulations.
• Understanding of risk assessment processes such as HAZID and HAZOP.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Marine Systems Engineer to strengthen our industry-leading Marine Engineering team. We are particularly interested in engineers with experience in marine and hull systems, offshore vessels, FPSOs/FSOs and vessel conversion projects.

Our team has extensive experience delivering complex marine and offshore projects, ranging from semi-submersibles and FPSOs to heavy-lift vessels, dredgers and ice-breaking ships. We support our clients through all project phases, from concept studies and FEED to detailed design, fabrication, installation and site support.

As a Senior Marine Systems Engineer, you will be part of a highly specialized team delivering marine systems design for FPSOs, offshore vessels, floating structures, vessel conversions and newbuild projects.

Your responsibilities

You will work within multidisciplinary project teams and be involved in:

• Functional design of marine and hull systems
• Development and review of P&IDs
• Design of ballast, bilge, seawater, fuel, and auxiliary systems
• Marine systems engineering for floating structures, FPSOs, FSOs and specialized vessels
• Hydraulic and thermal analyses
• System calculations and technical documentation
• Participation in HAZID, HAZOP and design reviews
• Coordination with naval architects, structural engineers, process engineers and package vendors
• Interface with shipyards, classification societies and client organizations
• Technical support during fabrication, commissioning and vessel delivery

We are looking for someone who has

• MSc or BSc degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 8+ years of experience in Marine Systems Engineering
• Strong experience with marine systems design
• Experience with ballast, bilge, fuel, seawater, cargo handling, auxiliary systems or HVAC systems is highly valued
• Experience from FPSO/FSO projects, vessel conversions, offshore vessels, dredging vessels, heavy-lift vessels or ship newbuild
• Excellent knowledge of P&ID development and system documentation
• Experience working with classification societies and international regulations
• Understanding of risk assessment processes such as HAZID and HAZOP
• Experience working in multidisciplinary and international project environments
