Job summary

Sigma Group in Oslo is seeking an experienced Senior Marine Systems Engineer to lead the design of marine and hull systems for FPSOs, offshore vessels, and floating structures. You'll work within multidisciplinary teams across concept studies through detailed design and delivery.

You will develop P&ID drawings, ballast and HVAC systems, perform hydraulic and thermal analyses, and support fabrication, commissioning and vessel delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Marine Systems Engineering.
• MSc or BSc in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Strong experience with marine systems design.
• Experience with ballast, bilge, fuel, seawater, cargo handling, auxiliary systems or HVAC systems.
• Experience from FPSO/FSO projects, vessel conversions, offshore vessels, dredging vessels or ship newbuilds.
• Excellent knowledge of P&ID development and system documentation.
• Experience working with classification societies and international regulations.
• Understanding of risk assessment processes such as HAZID and HAZOP.

Responsibilities

• Functional design of marine and hull systems.
• Development and review of P&IDs.
• Design of ballast, bilge, seawater, fuel, and auxiliary systems.
• Marine systems engineering for floating structures, FPSOs, FSOs and specialized vessels.
• Hydraulic and thermal analyses.
• System calculations and technical documentation.
• Participation in HAZID, HAZOP and design reviews.
• Coordination with naval architects, structural engineers, process engineers and vendors.
• Interface with shipyards, classification societies and client organizations.
• Technical support during fabrication, commissioning and vessel delivery.
