Job summary

Reach Subsea is seeking a Project and Structural Engineer to strengthen our engineering team in Haugesund or Aberdeen. You will support projects from tendering through offshore operations, applying technical expertise to ensure robust engineering practices and delivery.

You will carry out seafastening calculations, write design reports and procedures, and collaborate with managers to improve processes and project outcomes. Growth and development opportunities accompany this role.

Qualifications

• BSc or higher in Subsea, Mechanical, Marine, or Naval Engineering or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Orcaflex analysis and HSE standards.
• Working knowledge of DNV-ST-N001.
• Offshore safety training and medical certificate are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Seafastening calculations and analysis per project/tender requirements.
• Write design reports, method statements, task plans and procedures.
• Identify required engineering services and equipment (in-house or third party).
• Promote improvements to seafastening processes and project standards.
• Capture lessons learned and apply to future planning and execution.
• Develop commercial awareness for tenders and projects.
• Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with Project Manager, Offshore Manager and Shift Supervisors to enhance outcomes.

Job description

Support project execution from tendering to offshore operations, carrying out seafastening calculations and writing design reports.

• BSc or higher in Subsea, Mechanical, Marine, or Naval Engineering, or equivalent
• Knowledge of Orcaflex analysis and HSE standards
• Working knowledge of DNV-ST-N001
• Experience within subsea or ROV is beneficial
• Offshore safety training (UK/Norwegian) and approved medical certificate are beneficial

Project and Structural Engineer

Key responsibilities:

• Carry out Seafastening calculations and analysis in line with project and tender requirements, optimising operational capability where practicable to ensure efficient operations
• Write design reports, method statements, task plans, procedures, and other documentation as required by the workscope, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with project standards
• Identify engineering services and equipment required – in-house or third party – to successfully deliver the workscope
• Engage with and identify improvements to the engineering and seafastening processes, promoting consistency across projects
• Ensure that lessons learned are captured continuously and integrated into future planning and execution
• Develop commercial awareness of engineering products and services to tenders and projects, supporting informed decision-making and value-driven delivery
• Identify and pursue opportunities to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness within the workscope, balancing innovation with operational reliability
• Collaborate with the Project Manager, Offshore Manager, and Shift Supervisors, sharing insights gained during planning and execution to enhance team performance and project outcomes

The key qualifications we are looking for:

• BSC or higher degree within Subsea/Mechanical/Marine/Naval Engineering or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and/or education/training
• Relevant experience within subsea, ROV, etc. is beneficial
• Offshore safety training (UK and Norwegian) and approved medical certificate are beneficial

Experience and Knowledge:
