Job summary

NACOS Marine in Drammen is seeking a Senior Service Engineer to strengthen our automation service organization. You will program, commission, service, and support Integrated Alarm & Control Systems (IAS/IAMCS) and SCADA solutions for marine applications.

You will work closely with shipowners, shipyards, and internal engineering teams across the full service lifecycle, from software integration and refit projects to warranty handling and sea trials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, SCADA solutions, and PLC programming (IEC 61131-3 preferred).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills across automation software, electronics, computers, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, service, refits, upgrades, FAT/HAT, and sea trial support for marine automation systems worldwide.
• Develop, modify, and standardize PLC and SCADA software, both in-house and onboard vessels.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation, software, and hardware issues under operational conditions.
• Handle warranty cases for newbuild projects and provide remote and onboard support to shipowners and vessel crews.
• Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation such as functional descriptions, drawings, and interface documentation.
• Support class compliance, customer acceptance, and system handover activities.
• Act as a trusted technical interface toward customers, shipyards, and internal stakeholders
