Job summary

NOV APL in Arendal is seeking a Senior Engineer – Marine Analysis to design and analyse mooring, riser, cable and umbilical systems for floating offshore installations. You’ll work across the full project lifecycle and collaborate closely with structural, mechanical and installation engineers.

Key focus areas include hydrodynamics and marine analysis, development of internal tools, and contributing to concept studies, FEED and detailed engineering.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Hydrodynamics, Naval Architecture, Marine Structures or related field.
• Experience in offshore engineering or marine analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in programming (Python, Fortran or similar).
• Professional English.

Responsibilities

• Perform marine analysis and design of mooring and riser systems.
• Analyse vessel motions, hydrostatic stability and hydrodynamic behaviour.
• Support concept studies, FEED, detailed engineering and project execution.
• Contribute to offshore loading and CO₂ injection system design.
• Develop and improve internal analysis tools and engineering methods.
• Collaborate with clients, suppliers and classification societies.
