Job summary

NOV APL in Arendal is seeking a Senior Engineer – Marine Analysis to design and analyse mooring, riser, cable and umbilical systems for floating offshore installations. You’ll work across the full project lifecycle and collaborate closely with structural, mechanical and installation engineers.

Key focus areas include hydrodynamics and marine analysis, development of internal tools, and contributing to concept studies, FEED and detailed engineering.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Hydrodynamics, Naval Architecture, Marine Structures or related field.
• Experience in offshore engineering or marine analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in programming (Python, Fortran or similar).
• Professional English.

Responsibilities

• Perform marine analysis and design of mooring and riser systems.

We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Marine Analysis to strengthen our engineering team in Arendal.
In this role, you\'ll perform design and analysis of mooring, riser, cable and umbilical systems for floating offshore installations. You\'ll contribute to concept studies, detailed engineering, product development and the continuous improvement of our marine analysis methods and software tools.
Working closely with structural, mechanical and installation engineers, you\'ll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle—from early client discussions to offshore installation.

Preferred

• Experience with marine analysis software such as OrcaFlex, RIFLEX, SIMA, SIMO, WAMIT or similar.

• Norwegian language skills are an advantage but not required.
