Job summary

ABS Bergen-based team seeks a Civil/Structural/Naval Architect professional to review vessel structure, stability, load lines and safety plans. You will perform design reviews, advise clients, and contribute to rule development within a collaborative team.

Strong English, planning skills and knowledge of classification rules are essential. The role focuses on marine and offshore projects with autonomous work as you gain training, reporting to Principal Engineers.

Qualifications

• Degree in civil/structural/naval disciplines as a foundation.
• Computer literacy in engineering software is required.
• Exposure to Finite Element Method through coursework or research.
• Strong communication in English and ability to liaise with clients.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice to field operations and technical offices.
• Review and approve vessel structure, stability, load line, tonnage, fire protection and safety aspects.
• Draft reports and respond to client inquiries with accuracy.
• Work within ABS Quality System and monitor project progress and quality.
• Collaborate with specialists and contribute to rule development.
