Join Wilhelmsen Ship Management as a Senior Manager, Fleet Performance & Value Creation

Location: Lysaker, Norway | Type: Full-time

Are you passionate about turning data and operational insights into measurable business results? Do you thrive at the intersection of analytics, operational excellence, and stakeholder collaboration?

Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM), one of the world's leading third‑party ship managers, is looking for a Senior Manager, Fleet Performance & Value Creation to join our growing cruise management business. In this strategic role, you will help drive performance improvements across a modern cruise fleet, creating visibility into key operational and financial drivers while supporting better decision-making across the organization.

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with operational leaders, technical experts, and client stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities, strengthen cost control, and deliver long‑term value for our customers.

About Wilhelmsen Ship Management

Wilhelmsen Ship Management is part of the Wilhelmsen Group, a global maritime company with a proud history spanning more than 160 years. We provide world‑class technical management, crew management, and marine services to customers across the shipping industry.

At WSM, you'll join an international environment where collaboration, continuous improvement, and operational excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role

As Senior Manager, Fleet Performance & Value Creation, you will be responsible for strengthening how fleet performance is measured, monitored, and improved. You will work across functions to identify performance gaps, drive improvement initiatives, and establish practical tools and processes that enable better operational and financial outcomes.

The role offers broad exposure to fleet operations, technical management, procurement, vessel accounting, hotel operations, and customer management, providing significant opportunities to influence decision‑making and create measurable value.

What you will be doing:
  • Identify and drive fleet-wide improvement opportunities through structured analysis and operational insight.
  • Increase transparency around fleet performance and key cost drivers, particularly within technical operations and fuel efficiency.
  • Review spending patterns, procurement effectiveness, and operating practices to strengthen cost discipline and performance.
  • Develop forecasting tools and management routines that help teams identify performance gaps and cost overruns early.
  • Partner with operational teams to improve efficiency across areas such as dry-docking, procurement, fuel consumption, and cost control.
  • Analyze consumption drivers, identify trends and risks, and recommend actions that improve operational performance.
  • Lead benchmarking initiatives across the fleet to identify best practices and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks together with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead strategic reviews of service delivery models to improve operational effectiveness and identify process synergies.
  • Translate complex analysis into practical recommendations, actions, and measurable business outcomes.
What we’re looking for:
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Economics, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in performance improvement, operational excellence, business analytics, consulting, shipping, cruise, or other data-driven industries.
  • Proven ability to turn data and analysis into decisions, actions, and tangible business results.
  • Strong commercial understanding and the ability to balance operational and financial considerations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders in complex, international environments.
  • Advanced skills in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to present insights in a clear and compelling way.
What we offer:

Working at Wilhelmsen can offer a culture and work environment of strong leadership, career development, work‑life balance and a job that is both challenging and stimulating.

Beyond this, benefits in Norway include, but are not limited to:

  • Competitive salary and an attractive pension plan
