Job summary

Nordea Liv in Norway is seeking a Senior Operations Specialist to manage the operational and strategic activities for the life insurance and pension platform. You will oversee the end-to-end application lifecycle and coordinate delivery with internal teams and external vendors.

Based in Norway (Bergen or Oslo), the role focuses on maintaining secure, compliant, and resilient services in a SaaS operating model, including legacy and cloud-based platforms.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in application operations and lifecycle management.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and third-party managed services.
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and FinOps familiarity.
• Fluency in English and Norwegian.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage end-to-end lifecycle for Nordea Liv’s Insurance & Pension platform.
• Coordinate operation, maintenance, enhancement, support and troubleshooting.
• Monitor cloud usage and licensing costs to ensure cost transparency.

About this opportunity

Welcome to Nordea Liv’s Service Operations team. We are looking for a Senior Operations Specialist to manage, maintain and operate Nordea Liv’s strategic Life Insurance and Pension platform. As a Senior Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for the operational oversight, technical maintenance, compliance, and will be responsible to deliver the business critical application as per business and regulatory requirements. The scope includes operating both the current legacy pension platform as well as the SaaS-based Core platform under development.

You will act as the primary Business Technology contact towards application teams, business stakeholders, architects, security specialists, and vendor teams, ensuring that services remain secure, resilient, compliant, and aligned with business needs.

This role offers broad responsibility across application lifecycle management, incident and problem management, change delivery, service continuity, and vendor collaboration within a highly regulated financial services environment in a SaaS operating model.

What you’ll be doing

• Own and manage the end-to-end Application lifecycle for Nordea Liv’s Insurance & Pension platform.
• Co-ordinate operation, maintenance, enhancement, support and troubleshooting to ensure service quality, stability, availability as per business and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and optimise cloud consumption and licensing costs to maintain Cloud cost transparency and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with Nordea policies and applicable regulatory requirements, including information security, audits, operational resilience, business continuity, and DORA requirements.
• Participate in projects, migrations, testing, and other key initiatives.

The role is based in Bergen or Oslo.

To succeed in this role, we believe that this describes you:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in application operations, technical maintenance and lifecycle management.
• Experience with SaaS platforms and outsourced or third-party managed application services.
• Relevant experience from managing Cloud platforms – MS Azure, AWS or GCP. Certification as MS Azure Administrator is an advantage.
• Demonstrable experience in FinOps - Certification is an advantage.
• Comfortable working in a vendor‑managed operating setup – you don’t need to script or write code but you need to ensure that an operational and compliant system is delivered by the vendor.
• Fluency in English and Norwegian.
