Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Senior Instrument Engineer for a contractual role in Haugesund. The position focuses on instrument design, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring compliance with project standards through IAT/FAT testing and documentation reviews.

You will work in a multicultural environment, communicating in English and ensuring timely delivery of instruments and related documents for greenfield offshore oil & gas or wind projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master degree required.
• 6–8 years’ experience in engineering for greenfield offshore oil&gas or wind projects.
• 3 years’ PRE activities experience in green field projects.
• Experience and deep knowledge of field instrumentation design per standards (NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL, IEC).

Responsibilities

• Design and follow up instrument packages with vendors.
• Be the package responsible engineer for instrument procurement.
• Participate in IAT/FAT test activities.
• Follow up instrument vendors and review vendor technical documentation.
• Ensure vendor information for project progress is identified and communicated.
• Produce and maintain engineering documents and data registers.
• Update technical and document data registers.

Senior Instrument Engineer

Contract period: 01.12.2026 - 31.12.2027

Location: Haugesund

Main tasks

• Instrument design and follow up of instrument packages vendors.
• Package responsible engineer for instrument procurement packages.
• Participate in test activities IAT/FAT.
• Follow up Instrument vendors and vendor technical documentation.
• Ensure that vendor information required for progress of the work is identified and communicated to the project.
• Perform and complete engineering documents and data registers.
• Update of technical and document data register.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master degree
• Minimum 6-8 years’ experience from engineering for greenfield offshore oil&gas or wind projects
• Minimum 3 years’ Experience with PRE activities and responsibilities from green field projects
• Experience and deep knowledge of field instrumentation design, measuring principle and solutions according to relevant standards such as NORSOK, ATEX, PTIL and IEC
• Have good communication skills
• Have a cooperative working attitude and acceptance for multicultural team environment
• Multidiscipline understanding
