Job summary

Omega 365 Consulting invites applications for a Senior Financial Controller in Oslo. The role focuses on accounting oversight, capitalization decisions, and liaison with external auditors.

It is a maternity leave replacement with a team of skilled controllers and strong governance processes. The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in Finance or related field, at least five years in similar roles, and solid IFRS/GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum five years of relevant experience from a similar role, audit, or other relevant positions.
• Experience with accounting assessments, particularly related to expense vs capitalization decisions and lease accounting (IFRS 16).
• Knowledge of local GAAP (forenklet IFRS) and IFRS.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience with SAP ERP or similar ERP systems is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Norwegian and English.
• Understanding of financial processes and how these impact accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting oversight and assessments connected to capitalization, operating cost, lease agreements, asset register and dismantling obligations.
• Set up annual Financial Statement, coordinate internal controls, and ensure correct balance sheet presentation.
• Coordinate with external auditors and deliver materials.
• Perform monthly closing activities and analysis of income statements and balance sheet.
• Support and guide junior controllers and maintain internal control framework.
• Collaborate on business and commercial changes impacting accounting/reporting.
