Job summary

Thor is seeking a Norwegian-speaking Cost Controller for a data center construction project based in Oslo. The role combines project cost control, financial reporting, forecasting, and project administration in an office-based setting.

You will work closely with project leadership, procurement, construction teams, and consultants to ensure accurate financial data, timely reporting, and effective cost management throughout the 10-month contract with potential extension.

• Extract and consolidate financial data from SAP for weekly/monthly reviews.
• Support procurement and construction teams with cost follow-ups on purchases and invoices.

Job description

We are seeking a Norwegian-speaking Cost Controller to support a data center construction project based in Oslo. This is an office based role combining project cost control, financial reporting, forecasting, and general project administration. You will work closely with project leadership, procurement, construction teams, and consultants to ensure accurate financial data, timely reporting, and effective cost management throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on project costs, consultant hours, material purchases, supplier invoices, and overall project expenditure.
• Prepare cost forecasts and track actual costs against budgets, highlighting variances and potential cost risks.
• Coordinate consultant timesheets, ensure hours are accurately recorded in the relevant systems, and follow up on outstanding or incorrect submissions.
• Prepare weekly project reports covering hours worked, costs, and general project expenditure, as well as monthly financial reports for internal management.
• Extract and consolidate financial data from SAP, ensuring information is accurate, up to date, and presented clearly to present in weekly / monthly reviews.
• Work closely with the procurement and construction teams to follow up on material purchases, invoices, commitments, and other project-related costs.
• Support general administrative tasks, maintain accurate project records, and assist with the day-to-day financial coordination of the project.

Requirements

• Previous experience in cost control, project finance, project reporting, or a similar financial/project support role.
• Experience working with budgets, forecasts, financial data, and management reporting.
• Good working knowledge of SAP and strong Excel/reporting skills would be an advantage.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ideally based in Oslo or the surrounding area.
• Location: Oslo, Norway
• Employment: Contract / Consultant
• Contract: 10 Months, Possibility of extension.
• Notice period: No longer than 1 month.
