Job summary

Smarte Hoder AS is seeking an experienced Interim Controller for an immediate assignment in Norway. You will oversee project finance, ensure IFRS 15-compliant revenue recognition, and lead month-end close as the sole finance resource on site.

You will collaborate with project teams and SSC units to deliver accurate reporting, drive profitability, and ensure timely billing and robust financial controls. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Stavanger.

Qualifications

• Higher education in accounting or finance.
• Experience in a medium-sized business.
• Experience with integrated ERP systems and strong Excel skills.
• Proficient in Norwegian and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial management of assigned projects from approval through close-out, ensuring revenue and costs are reconciled and documented for reporting, audits and contract management.
• Prepare and analyse project P&L statements, profitability reports and project performance; monitor budgets, forecasts, margins, KPIs and milestones, and elevate variances.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations Managers and Business Line leads on project and GP reviews; document decisions and follow up on actions.
• Manage revenue recognition and accruals in line with IFRS 15 and contract terms; coordinate with SSC teams.
• Oversee billing, journal processing with SSC R2R, review reports, analyse variances and prepare month-end financial commentary.
