Kahoot! is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join its global Data Team in Oslo. You will own data pipelines from ingestion to semantic layer, building an agent-driven data warehouse and working with analysts and business stakeholders.

You will design pipelines in Dagster+, use BigQuery, dbt, and Python, and help migrate legacy workloads. The role offers a collaborative, high-trust environment with opportunities to mentor others.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a data engineer with production data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and Python, with clean, tested code.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery preferred).
• Hands-on experience with orchestration frameworks (Dagster or similar).
• Experience with dbt and dimensional data modeling.
• Familiarity with AI/data agents and semantic layer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own data domains end to end from ingestion to marts and BI readiness.
• Design and build pipelines in Dagster+ with dbt models and Python assets.
• Model data warehouse using dimensional modeling and remodeling as needed.
• Set and maintain data quality, tests, monitoring, and alerting.
• Build and operate data agents for modeling, monitoring, and analytics.
• Modernize platform by migrating workloads to Dagster/dbt, reduce debt.
• Own infrastructure as code with Terraform/Terragrunt and CI/CD processes.
• Ensure data governance, privacy, retention, and secure access.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Finance and Engineering; translate questions into data models.
• Mentor teammates and help raise the team's conventions and docs.
