Job summary

Vizrt, based in Bergen, Norway, is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our backend team. You will develop high‑performance video processing components in modern C++ and contribute to the architecture and long‑term direction of Vizrt’s core technologies.

You will work with colleagues across multiple countries on graphics, video processing, transcoding, and live production workflows, with opportunities for technical leadership and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent skills and experience.
• Software engineering experience with modern C++.
• Experience with Python and/or C#, or interest in working with the languages.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience troubleshooting, profiling, and improving complex software systems.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Good communication and team-working skills.
• Experience with video processing, codecs, transcoding or multimedia frameworks is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evolve high‑performance video processing components using modern C++.
• Solve challenging technical problems related to performance, reliability and efficient processing of video.
• Contribute to architecture and long‑term direction of the technology.
• Work within a broader backend engineering environment and other Vizrt components.
• Identify bottlenecks, design new features, and improve performance and maintainability.
• Collaborate with colleagues across countries and teams, mentoring where appropriate.
