Job summary

AltoVita is seeking a motivated mid/senior Backend Engineer to advance our cloud-based property and content platform. You’ll drive backend architecture using PHP (Symfony) and NodeJS, design scalable APIs, and contribute to a Booking & Request Management Platform with real-time analytics.

You will lead technical standards, collaborate with product, frontend, DevOps, and QA, and implement robust testing and security practices while improving performance and scalability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial PHP development experience with Symfony and Node.js/TypeScript.
• Experience designing and managing scalable APIs.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical teams.
• Extensive automated testing experience (unit/contract/e2e).
• Solid understanding of MySQL and NoSQL databases.
• Proven ability to use automated CI/CD pipelines and security checks.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and enhance PHP (Symfony) and NodeJS backend applications for performance and scalability.
• Develop new features and ensure seamless integration across systems.
• Lead coding standards and participate in peer reviews to ensure quality.
• Design and implement comprehensive testing frameworks (unit/contract/e2e).
• Collaborate with product, frontend, DevOps, and QA to align tech with business goals.
• Follow DevSecOps practices and strengthen CI/CD pipelines with security checks.
• Focus on performance optimization through architecture improvements.
