Job summary

Trading212 is seeking Senior Backend Engineers to join our backend teams, owning solutions end to end and shaping requirements across the stack for scalable, reliable services.

You will design, test, deploy and operate production-grade software, collaborating with product and engineering to turn complex needs into durable, high-performance systems with a strong emphasis on data integrity and availability.

Qualifications

• Proven ownership of backend services in a microservices setup.
• Strong grasp of HTTP, WebSockets and AMQP, and when to apply each.
• Fluency in at least one modern backend framework.
• Deep knowledge of relational databases: indexing, transactions, isolation levels, locking, high performance design.
• Track record designing for high availability, scalability and resilience.
• Clear, structured problem solving; ability to explain decisions and trade-offs.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and confidence learning new tech.

Responsibilities

• Own backend solutions end to end: understand the problem, shape requirements, design, build, test, deploy and run in production.
• Design and evolve services for performance, scale, resilience and data integrity.
• Make clear technical decisions with awareness of constraints and trade-offs.
• Keep code and systems maintainable as products evolve.
• Diagnose production problems, address root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to translate complex requirements into durable solutions.
• Review work, share knowledge and raise engineering standards across the team.
