Job summary

UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø invites applications for a two-year-and-three-month Researcher position focused on mathematical modelling of hub molecules and metabolic flux analysis. The role is affiliated with the Bioinformatics and Systems Biology Group and the PhD program, with mobility across network institutions.

The project targets mitochondrial metabolism and hub molecule dynamics, and requires collaboration and international mobility within the MSCA DN framework.

Qualifications

  • Master in biochemistry, biophysics, or mathematical biology or similar qualification.
  • Strong background in mathematics as well as programming experience in Python.
  • Good understanding of biochemistry.
  • Documented good written and oral proficiency in English language.

Responsibilities

  • Reconstruct models of mitochondrial biochemistry with focus on hub molecules and their transport/dynamics.
  • Develop new approaches for metabolic flux analyses to understand hub molecule changes on protein modification dynamics.
  • Collaborate across the MSCA-DN HubMOL network and spend several months at partner institutions.
