Job summary

Linuxcareers is seeking a hands-on field researcher to design and execute research projects with salmon farmers and partners. You will deploy, service, and troubleshoot hardware (cameras, sonar, sensors), collect and annotate data, and build data dashboards using Python and Linux to support field and administrative workflows.

The role requires degrees in aquaculture or related fields, experience with fish in aquaculture settings, fluency in Norwegian and English, and ability to travel to remote

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in aquaculture or relevant technical field.
• Previous experience working with fish in an aquacultural setting.
• Advanced computer skills including data analytics and complex data visualization through scripting.
• Fluency in Norwegian and English in both writing and speech.
• Physically able to lift 25kg.
• Valid driver's license and comfortable driving to remote facilities.
• Familiarity with Linux and Python.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and excellent interpersonal skills.
