Job summary

Skretting AI in Stavanger, Norway, invites applications for a Researcher in Salmonid Nutrition on a temporary 2-year contract. You will contribute to research supporting innovation in feed formulations, growth, health, and welfare of salmonids, mainly Atlantic salmon and coho, collaborating with universities and industry partners.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD or MSc with relevant experience, has strong experimental design and statistics skills, and excellent English communication.

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and driven Researcher in Salmonid Nutrition to join our Salmonid Nutrition team in Stavanger on a temporary basis (2 years). In this role, you will contribute to the next generation of nutritional solutions for salmonids, helping to improve fish performance, health, welfare, and sustainability across the global aquaculture industry. What You’ll Do

As a Researcher in Salmonid Nutrition, you will play a key role in delivering research that supports Skretting's innovation agenda.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Planning, coordination, execution and interpretation of research studies related to nutrition of the salmonid species; mainly Atlantic salmon, but also and coho.
• Developing innovative nutritional solutions aimed at optimizing feed formulations, improving growth performance, and enhancing fish health and welfare.
• Providing technical expertise and support to Skretting operating companies worldwide on fish nutrition and feed formulation topics.
• Managing collaborative research projects with universities, research institutes, suppliers, and national and international funding organizations.
• Communicating research findings and supporting the implementation of innovations across the business.
• Contributing to the development of new ingredients, products, technologies, and concepts that drive sustainable aquaculture forward.

You are a curious and collaborative scientist who combines technical expertise with a practical, results-oriented approach.

We Are Looking For Someone With

• PhD or equivalent in fish or animal nutrition or fish health biology/veterinary science (or MSc with minimum 3 years relevant experience)
• Background in fish research or commercial farming of fish is an advantage
• Experience with laboratory work, diagnostics and field sampling will be valued
• Strong competence in experimental design and statistical analysis of fish, shrimp, or animal trials.
• An established scientific network, which is considered an advantage.
• An innovative mindset, including a hands-on and target oriented mentality.
• Independent and flexible, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across cultures and backgrounds.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of proficiency in English.
