Job summary

Skretting Aquaculture Innovation in Stavanger seeks a Researcher in Salmonid Nutrition for a two-year temporary position. You will contribute to next-generation nutritional solutions for salmonids to enhance growth, health, welfare, and sustainability across the global aquaculture industry.

The role involves planning, coordinating, executing, and interpreting nutrition studies, developing innovative feed formulations, and providing technical expertise to Skretting operating companies worldwide.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with relevant experience in fish nutrition, health or disease biology.
• Experience in planning and executing nutrition-related studies is preferred.
• Strong report-writing and communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, execute and interpret nutrition studies on salmonids.
• Develop innovative feed formulations to optimize growth and health.
• Provide technical support to global teams on fish nutrition and feed formulation.
• Manage collaborative projects with universities, institutes and industry partners.

We are looking for a passionate and driven Researcher in Salmonid Nutrition to join ourSalmonid Nutritionteam in Stavanger on a temporary basis (2years).In this role, you will contribute to the next generation of nutritional solutions for salmonids, helping to improve fish performance, health, welfare, and sustainability across the global aquaculture industry.

What you'll do

As a Researcherin Salmonid Nutrition, you will play a key role in delivering research that supports Skretting's innovation agenda.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, coordination, execution and interpretation of research studies related to nutrition of the salmonid species; mainly Atlantic salmon, but also and coho.
• Developing innovative nutritional solutions aimed atoptimizing feed formulations, improving growth performance, and enhancing fish health and welfare.
• Providing technicalexpertise and support to Skretting operating companies worldwide on fish nutrition and feed formulation topics.
• Managing collaborative research projects with universities, research institutes, suppliers, and national and international funding organizations.
• Communicating research findings and supporting the implementation of innovations across the business.
• Contributing to the development of new ingredients, products, technologies, and concepts that drive sustainable aquaculture forward.

Who you are

You are a curious and collaborative scientist who combines technical expertise with a practical, results-oriented approach. We are looking for someone with:

• PhD or equivalent in fishor animalnutrition or fish health biology/veterinary science (or MSc with minimum 3 years relevant experience)
• Backgroundin fish research or commercial farming of fish is an advantage
• Experience with laboratory work, diagnostics and field sampling will be valued
• Strong competence in experimental design and statistical analysis of fish, shrimp, or animal trials.
• An established scientific network, which is considered an advantage.
• An innovative mindset, including a hands-on and target oriented mentality.
• Independent and flexible, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across cultures and backgrounds.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, witha high level of proficiency in English.
