Job summary

Kongsberg Maritime seeks a Hydrodynamicist / Propeller Blade Designer to join the Propulsion Hydrodynamics team. You will design propulsion systems using CFD and model testing, collaborating with shipyards, designers and owners to meet specific vessel requirements.

You will work with our Hydrodynamic Research Centre to advance cutting-edge hydrodynamics, while ensuring timely, high-quality delivery and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Engineering Physics, Naval Architecture or equivalent is required.
• High level of English, both written and spoken, is essential.
• Ability to obtain security clearance and meet export control requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design propulsion systems, including propellers and rudders, using CFD and model testing.
• Collaborate with shipyards, designers and owners to translate requirements into efficient, sustainable solutions.
• Develop and adapt propeller and rudder designs to meet customer needs with the testing facility’s cavitation tunnels.
• Lead hydrodynamic research projects, ensuring delivery on time and on budget.
