Job summary

Public Sector is seeking an interim Accounts Assistant to join a respected finance team on a 3-6 month remote assignment. You will process supplier invoices, review statements, and monitor bank feeds.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Xero, strong prioritisation, and excellent communication to manage supplier and internal relationships; VAT exposure is desirable. This role offers fully remote work for the contract duration.

Qualifications

• Previous experience using Xero
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Experience assisting with VAT is highly desirable
• Excellent communication skills for managing supplier and internal relationships

Responsibilities

• Processing supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Reviewing supplier statements and requesting missing documentation
• Managing supplier and internal finance queries with professionalism
• Monitor bank feeds, post transactions, and flag unexpected movements
• Performing bank reconciliations for outgoing payments
