Job summary

GS FLEET, a European technology company delivering integrated fleet management, telematics and IoT solutions, seeks a Software Architect to bridge business needs, customer requirements and technical execution.

You will lead architecture with product and engineering teams, own the technical roadmap, and shape scalable cloud-native solutions primarily on AWS, while fostering collaboration across international teams and ensuring reliability, security and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (MSc, MBA or equivalent) in engineering, technology, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience.
• Strong experience designing and evolving distributed SaaS architectures.
• Solid cloud experience (AWS preferred, multi-cloud or cloud-agnostic mindset is a plus).
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Hands-on development experience and ability to prototype solutions.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Ensure architectural decisions support availability, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Evaluate trade-offs between system design, operational complexity, and customer value.
• Assess and plan necessary changes to system architecture.
• Design and maintain cloud-native solutions (primarily AWS, but with a cloud-agnostic mindset).
• Identify risks, scalability challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support development teams in planning, evaluating, and implementing architectural decisions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship on best practices and modern architecture patterns.
• Facilitate cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to product and company roadmap planning.
• Own and drive the technical roadmap related to architecture and infrastructure evolution.
• Ensure alignment between long-term technical strategy and business goals.
• Lead technical discovery initiatives and innovation efforts.
• Design and implement Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to evaluate new technologies and approaches.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Establish and maintain architectural guidelines, standards, and best practices.
• Promote reliability, observability, security, and operational excellence.
• Help improve development workflows and engineering maturity.
