Job summary

DNV invites applications for a two-year research trainee program. Based at Høvik outside Oslo with possible Trondheim rotation, Trainees will work across GRD and DNV’s business areas. You will explore strategic topics in AI, cybersecurity, and nuclear propulsion safety while learning from leading researchers and engineers.

We seek candidates with strong English, a Master’s/PhD completed 2025–2027, and a keen interest in applied research. Applications close Oct 16, 2026; start mid-August 2027.

Qualifications

• Open and analytical mindset with a strong drive to learn and take on new challenges.
• Ability to combine interest in applied research with curiosity about DNV’s broader services, including advisory and consultancy services
• Interest in topics such as computer science, statistics, simulations, programming, and machine learning is an advantage
• Thriving in a collaborative, diverse, and international environment
• Strong academic results combined with good communication skills and fluency in English, both verbal and written
• Master’s or PhD degree completed between 2025 and 2027 (maximum two years of work experience), and ready to start no later than mid-August 2027
