Job summary

Park Avenue is recruiting a Private Sector Housing Officer to support a Surrey/West London local authority backlog with HMO licensing work. The role covers a busy caseload of around 300 licensing cases and 120 properties needing licensing, with a flexible, hybrid schedule requiring 2 days per week in the office.

The role focuses on HMO licensing, enforcement and housing conditions, with in-house training offered and a contract currently running until 31st March.

Qualifications

• Experience across Private Sector Housing, HMO licensing and enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Working across a varied Private Sector Housing caseload, including HMO licensing and processing.
• Investigating housing conditions and supporting the reduction of licensing backlog.
• Raising Community Protection Warnings and Community Protection Notices as needed.
• Escalating cases through to Fixed Penalty Notices where required.
• Supporting wider nuisance and enforcement work.
• Possible involvement with high-rise housing matters.
