Job summary

University of Oslo’s Department of Clinical Molecular Biology (EpiGen) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at Campus Ahus, Lørenskog. The project develops a biophysically interpretable ML framework integrating TF–DNA interactions, epigenomic features, and 3D genome data to identify regulatory interactions in cancer.

Qualifications

• PhD in bioinformatics or computational biology or related quantitative field.
• Strong background in molecular biology, human genetics/genomics, and bioinformatics.
• Experience with machine learning, data mining, and software or package development.
• Proficiency in shell scripting, R, Python, and C.
• Experience with big data analysis and computational genome regulation.

Responsibilities

• Develop a biophysically interpretable machine learning framework integrating multi-omics data.
• Identify functional long-range gene regulatory interactions from in vivo data.
• Collaborate with students, PhD candidates, researchers, and national/international partners.
• Publish high-quality scientific papers and contribute open-source software.
• Participate in career development activities and mentoring.
