Job summary

The Section for Cancer Cytogenetics at Oslo University Hospital invites applications for a one-year position as a research assistant/bioinformatician. The role focuses on cancer genomics and transcriptomics, with development and application of bioinformatic workflows, data integration, and translational research to understand genetic drivers of disease.

We seek a PhD-qualified candidate with strong R skills, experience in gene/miRNA expression analysis, and familiarity with high-dimensional

Qualifications

PhD in bioinformatics or related field; public defence must be approved by closing date.
Strong quantitative and computational skills; proficiency in R and expression analysis incl. DESeq2.
Experience with high-dimensional statistics or data integration is advantageous.
Experience managing large datasets and applications in biomedicine.
Excellent English communication; ability to collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

Conduct scientific research in cancer genomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics.
Analyze and interpret genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data.
Develop and apply bioinformatic workflows for projects.
Contribute to scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
Present research findings at national and international conferences.
Participate in research group meetings and collaborations.
