Job summary

University of Oslo invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in action-oriented modeling for trustworthy AI within TRUST, the Norwegian Centre for Trustworthy AI. The role is based at the Department of Informatics and is funded for three years, with a start no later than 01 March 2027.

The fellowship is full-time and centrally coordinated through TRUST. The successful candidate will lead the Action-Oriented Modeling template, conduct empirical validation, and develop governance

Qualifications

  • Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in information systems, informatics, computer science, science and technology studies, or another relevant field.
  • The doctoral dissertation must be submitted for evaluation by the closing date; only applicants with an approved thesis and public defense are eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, formalize, and publish the Action-Oriented Modeling template; central output of the project.
  • Empirically validate the template through action research and participatory design methods.
  • Define governance principles for model ownership and allow stakeholders to revise models as contexts change.
  • Coordinate collaboration between the core development team, partners, and local stakeholders, acting as a competence hub for action-oriented AI within TRUST.
