Job summary

Oslo University Hospital invites a motivated doctoral candidate to develop patient-specific models of aortic valve disease. The project combines experimental and computational methods to improve diagnostic approaches and treatment planning for TAVI patients.

The role involves 3D printed valve models, CFD/FSI simulations, and collaboration with international partners to validate findings against clinical measurements.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• Strong academic record with at least a B average or higher.
• Experience with CFD simulations and/or FSI modelling is desirable.
• Experience in scientific programming (Python/MATLAB/C++) is advantageous.
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics and numerical methods is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop patient-specific experimental and computational models for valve disease.
• Create 3D printed models of diseased valves and validate laboratory mock circulation.
• Collaborate with clinicians and researchers to compare CFD/FSI results with measurements.
