Job summary

University of Agder’s Faculty of Engineering and Science invites applications for a fixed-term PhD Research Fellow in Civil and Structural Engineering at Campus Grimstad. The position is three years and affiliated with the Department of Engineering Sciences, contributing to the HelioSea EU project on floating solar arrays.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Marine Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or closely related field.
• English language proficiency required; tests such as TOEFL/IELTS with specified results.
• Experience with offshore structures and research publications is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on the design and analysis of multibody floating solar systems under offshore conditions.
• Perform analytical modelling and numerical analysis of multibody hydrodynamics; include structural analysis if needed.
• Prepare and submit research reports, publish articles and participate in dissemination activities at European level.
