Job summary

Leap29 seeks a Mechanical Project Manager to own the cooling and mechanical package on a major data-centre project in Norway. You will oversee design through commissioning, coordinating with contractors and vendors while safeguarding safety, quality and schedule.

The role requires strong technical depth in cooling, HVAC and controls, plus proven ability to manage long-lead equipment, budgets and interfaces across disciplines on a site-based project.

Qualifications

• Experience owning a major mechanical package on large projects.
• Strong understanding of cooling, HVAC, piping and controls.
• Track record delivering complex mechanical systems to commissioning.
• Experience managing contractors and equipment vendors to plan.
• Knowledge of mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and turnover.

Responsibilities

• Own delivery plan, interfaces and outcomes for mechanical, HVAC and piping.
• Lead design reviews and drive technical decisions for build and commission.
• Review drawings, specs, equipment schedules for gaps and risks.
• Set deliverables for contractors and vendors, enforce dates/quality.
• Manage long-lead equipment approvals, delivery, offloading, readiness.
• Control package cost, programme, progress, risk and quality with actions.
• Collaborate with electrical, controls, CSA, fire and commissioning teams.
• Plan installation sequence, lifting, access, and site logistics.
• Verify installation of pipework, pumps, valves, equipment and controls.
• Coordinate testing, flushing, water treatment, balancing and records.
• Track mechanical completion and commissioning readiness with defects.
• Ensure inspection/test plans are completed with evidence.
• Coordinate BMS integration and validate control sequences.
• Drive defects, non-conformances and changes to resolution.
• Stay with the package through testing and final acceptance.
• Deliver turnover files and as-built records for operations.
• Set and maintain safety, workmanship and quality standards.
• Report progress, risks and actions to Project Director.
