Job summary

Tampnet AS in Stavanger is seeking two dedicated individuals for our Network Operations Centre at Hinna Park. The role operates 24/7 on a rotating schedule, handling calls, incidents and service requests while supporting multiple departments including Subsea and Engineering.

You will receive thorough training, mentorship, and a structured plan to grow across the company. Fluency in Norwegian and strong English skills are required, with background checks part of the process.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or completed at least one year of a relevant university program (e.g., computer science, telecom or electrical engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Basic understanding of IP networking and telecom infrastructure concepts.
  • Ability to work part-time / flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Handle customer calls, incidents, alarms, and service requests, escalate complex issues per Tampnet matrix.
  • Monitor the network for incidents and events with timely first-line response.
  • Perform daily/nightly NOC checklists and runbooks; archive reports.
  • Support follow-the-sun coordination with other GNOC teams.
  • Assist with planning network changes and SLA uptime reporting.
  • Perform basic administration of users and access and ensure ITIL-aligned practices.

Job description

Tampnet is hiring two part-time employees for our Operations Centre at Hinna Park in Stavanger!

The Network Operations Centre (NOC) primarily serves the offshore industry and operates 24/7 on a rotating schedule that includes day, evening, and night shifts. The NOC is the hub of activity at Tampnet and you will work in a team that serves as the central point of contact for several departments including Subsea, Technology and Architecture, Solutions Implementation and Deployments and Engineering.

You will receive thorough training from the team, be assigned a mentor, and tasks will be adjusted based on your level of expertise.

Responsibilities and tasks:
  • Handle customer calls, incidents, alarms, and service requests, escalating complex or higher-level (L2+) issues to the Operations Engineer or shift lead according to the Tampnet escalation matrix.

  • Monitor the network for incidents and events, ensuring timely first-line (L1) response.

  • Perform daily / nightly NOC checklists, operational routines, and archive reports.

  • Support follow-the-sun coordination with other GNOC teams.

  • Support coordination and execution of planned network changes.

  • Assist with SLA uptime calculations and reporting.

  • Perform basic administration of users and access.

  • Ensure adherence to ITIL-aligned practices and continuous service improvement.

  • Carry out first-line analysis of events / incidents and basic problem solving.

  • Maintain and follow operational documentation, runbooks, and checklists.

  • Ensure clear and timely communication with customers and internal stakeholders on first-line matters.

  • Support internal reporting on ticket volumes and incident trends, as requested.

  • Contribute to a positive work environment in the team / department.

  • Participate in projects and service delivery as necessary.

  • Perform other technical tasks within his/her area of expertise.

Desired qualifications:
  • Enrolled in, or having completed at least one year of, a relevant university program (e.g., computer science, telecom or electrical engineering), or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Basic understanding of IP networking and telecom infrastructure concepts.

  • Ability to work part-time / flexible shifts.

Language:

You must be fluent in Norwegian and have strong oral and written skills in English.
