Job summary

Maersk Training in Grimstad is seeking a General Manager to lead and oversee all activities at the Grimstad training centre, acting as the local representative of the Norwegian Managing Director. You will drive operational excellence, safety, quality, financial performance and business growth.

You will ensure regulatory compliance, maintain accreditation standards, and foster a high-performing, customer-focused team while building strong relationships with customers and the Commercial department.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in operational management.
• Strong knowledge of Norwegian offshore and maritime regulation.
• Commercial acumen with focus on performance and results.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change effectively.

Responsibilities

• Holds overall responsibility for the local organization, including its people, performance, and results.
• Establishes and follows up the Norwegian safety training goals and associated action plans.
• Carries overall operational responsibility for the local safety training center.
• Plans and ensures optimal utilization of resources, capacity, and competence.
• Delivers results in line with budget and provides monthly performance reporting to management.
• Ensures understanding of the management system, procedures, handbooks, and IT tools.
• Ensures safety training meets accreditation requirements and internal course satisfaction standards.
• Ensures statutory and customer requirements are met.
• collaborates with the Commercial department on sales and marketing activities.
