Job summary

Varian provides proton therapy systems and is looking for an Onsite Service Engineer to maintain and support our Proton Therapy Center at Helse Bergen. This replacement role joins our dedicated service team to ensure uptime.

You will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshoot, and collaborate with clinical staff in a dynamic, onsite role requiring English fluency and willingness to work shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or technical diploma in a relevant field.
• Mechanical and electronic/electromechanical systems understanding.
• Fluent English; Scandinavian languages are a plus.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance on proton therapy equipment and supporting systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and keep the system fully functional during clinical hours.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks and support regulatory compliance.
• Hands on work with hardware, software, PCs, networks, and wireless systems.
• Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to ensure smooth daily operations.

Join Varian's Proton Therapy team and work with one of the most advanced cancer treatment technologies. As an Onsite Service Engineer, you will help ensure the smooth operation of our Proton Therapy System- the cutting-edge equipment used to precisely target tumors while protecting healthy tissue.

This is a replacement role within our established existing Proton Therapy Service Team.

What You'll Do

What We’re Looking For:

• Technical education (Bachelor's, Master's, or technical diploma).
• Mechanical skills and understanding of electronic or electromechanical systems are essential.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); Scandinavian language skills are a plus.
• Willingness to work in a dynamic environment, including shift working hour pattern.

Additional Skills That Are a Plus:

• Experience with computer systems and troubleshooting.
