Job summary

Toptemp AS is seeking an experienced HSE Officer to support a large-scale construction project in Northern Norway. The role focuses on site health, safety and environmental activities, working closely with project management, supervisors, subcontractors, and the HSE team.

You will conduct daily site inspections, promote safe work practices, assist with incidents and audits, and help maintain accurate HSE records. Fluency in English is required; Norwegian legislation knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of HSE experience in construction, engineering, or industrial projects.
• Good understanding of Norwegian HSE legislation.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital HSE systems.
• NEBOSH IGC, ISO 45001, or relevant HSE/engineering education is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections and safety observations, providing feedback and recommendations to the project team.
• Monitor HSE compliance and support the implementation of safe working practices.
• Assist with incident investigations and follow up corrective actions.
• Deliver site inductions and support daily toolbox talks.
• Support contractor engagement on hazard identification and risk control measures.
• Verify that equipment, permits, and access systems comply with project and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in emergency preparedness activities and drills.
• Support internal and external HSE audits, including client and authority inspections.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, photographic documentation, and site logs.
• Provide day-to-day HSE guidance to supervisors, workers, and subcontractors.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the development of a positive safety culture.
