Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre Construction
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the delivery of mechanical packages on major data centre construction projects.
This role is responsible for managing the full mechanical scope from design coordination through installation, commissioning, and handover. You will work closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure mechanical systems are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the delivery of mechanical systems from design through commissioning and handover
- Coordinate mechanical subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure installations are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, project requirements, and industry standards
- Monitor programme, progress, quality, costs, and resource requirements across the mechanical scope
- Identify and resolve technical, commercial, and construction-related issues
- Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, civil, and commissioning teams
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements
- Support testing, commissioning, system validation, and final project handover
- Provide regular reporting and updates to project leadership and key stakeholders
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Mechanical Project Management, Package Management, or a similar leadership role
- Strong experience delivering HVAC, cooling, piping, and plumbing systems on large-scale construction projects
- Experience within data centres, mission-critical facilities, industrial projects, or complex MEP environments is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of project delivery, subcontractor management, and construction sequencing
- Experience using project management and construction software platforms
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing mechanical packages through commissioning and handover
- Familiarity with relevant mechanical, construction, and safety standards
- Experience working within fast-track, multi-contractor project environments
