Job summary

COWI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to drive the mechanical design of data centres across Scandinavia, coordinating with engineering teams to shape cooling, HVAC and energy‑efficient solutions for hyperscale and enterprise facilities.

Based in Norway with options to work across offices, you will engage clients, translate requirements into robust designs, and guide projects from concept to construction while balancing performance, reliability and sustainability.

Qualifications

A relevant educational background in engineering.
Proven experience delivering data centre projects, ideally within hyperscale, colocation or enterprise environments.
Experience leading technical design work within multidisciplinary project environments.
Professional proficiency in English.
Experience working with large‑scale infrastructure or industrial facilities.

Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design and advisory services for data centre facilities.
Act as the discipline lead, ensuring technical quality and coordination throughout projects.
Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for hyperscale and enterprise data centers.
Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
Support projects through concept development, detailed design, tendering and construction phases.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and efficient technical solutions.
