Job summary

COWI is seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead to steer the design of next‑generation data centre facilities across Scandinavia. You will lead mechanical design, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and guide projects from early planning through detailed design and implementation.

Based in Norway with opportunities to work across our offices, the role emphasizes cooling, HVAC, reliability and sustainable solutions for hyperscale, colocation and enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• A relevant educational background in engineering.
• Proven experience delivering data centre projects, ideally within hyperscale, colocation or enterprise environments.
• Experience leading technical design work within multidisciplinary project environments.
• Professional proficiency in English.
• Experience working with large-scale infrastructure or industrial facilities.
• Some projects may be subject to specific security requirements, and the ability to obtain relevant security clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and advisory services for data centre facilities.
• Act as the discipline lead, ensuring technical quality and coordination throughout projects.
• Lead the design and development of mechanical systems for hyperscale and enterprise data centers.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into practical engineering solutions.
• Support projects through concept development, detailed design, tendering and construction phases.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and efficient technical solutions.
